Donate to our workshop programme
We run annual workshops for vulnerable girls and women in the Caribbean. In 2018, our workshops were at Mary's Child, a home for teenage mothers in Kingston, Jamaica. In 2019, we extended the workshops to Cedars Home, a shelter for domestic violence survivors in Grenada.
The aim of our workshops is to empower women by providing more opportunities for them to become financially independent, as well as building their confidence and self esteem through learning a new skill.
Crochet materials available to buy on the islands are expensive and often poor quality, therefore we aim to regularly send more materials to our students so they can continue to develop their skills. With our support, these amazing strong women will be able to continue practicing and creating, an important step in their path to independence.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our next set of workshops has been postponed until 2021. In addition to yarn, tools needed for these workshops include (for each person participating) crochet hook(s), scissors, yarn needles, carrying case, beginners crochet book, pom pom maker, jewellery findings, jewellery pliers, beads and a workshop work-book/ notebook.
If you happen to have DK weight yarns already that you no longer need, please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org
Any donations will be greatly appreciated, Thank you!
